CHAPTER 7 : STORING ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION-DATABASES


Storing Organizational Information
1)      Organizational information is stored in a database.
2)      The central concept of a database is that of a collection of records, or pieces of information.
3)      A given database has a structural description of the types of facts held in tat database.

Relational Database Fundamentals
1)   Database maintains information about various types of inventories, transactions, employees and places.
2) Hierarchical database model is information is organized into a tree like structure that allows repeating information using parents child relationship in such way that it cannot have to many relationship.
3) The network database model is a flexible way of representing objects and their relationship.
4) The rational database model is a type of database that stores information in the forms of logically related two dimensional tables.

Relational Database Advantages
-          Increase flexibility
-   Increased scalability and performance
-   Reduced information redundancy
-   Increased information integrity
-   Increased information security

Database Management Systems
-        Database management systems (DBMS) is software through which users and application programs interact with a database.
-  There are two primary ways that users can interect with a DBMS that are directly and indirectly.
-   Data-driven website is an interactive website kept constantly updated and relevant to the needs of its customers through the used of database.
 
-          There are many advantages of data-driven website :
1.       Development
2.       Content management
3.       Future expendability
4.       Minimizing human error
5.       Cutting production and update cost
6.       More efficient
7.       Improve stability
